Abstract

In this paper, a method for reducing the voltage stresses on switching components and power losses in a shunt current source active power filter (CSAPF) is presented. The method is based on the series capacitor structure which is used to block the fundamental supply voltage component. The results show that the component voltage stresses and power losses are lower in the CSAPF with a series-connected capacitor than in the conventional topology.
