Abstract

Based on Firestone 1T15M-2 diaphragm type air spring, the experiment system of air spring with auxiliary chamber was established. The influences of orifice diameter and auxiliary chamber volume to vibration response of air spring with auxiliary chamber were studied by the means of experiment. The experiment results show that, with the increase of orifice diameter, the stiffness of air spring with auxiliary chamber decreases, and the damp of system increases first, and when d=5mm, the damp of system reaches to maximum, after that the damp of system begins to decrease with the further increase of orifice diameter. Enlarging auxiliary chamber’s volume can reduce the stiffness of the system of air spring with auxiliary chamber, and at the same time, enlarging auxiliary chamber’s volume also can increase the damp of system. But when the ratio of auxiliary chamber and air spring is greater than 2, changing the volume of auxiliary chamber would have little effect on the stiffness and damping.
