Abstract
In recent years additive manufacturing technologies advanced a lot in fabricating the components. One of the most popular methods for creating components by layer-by-layer material deposition is fused deposition modelling (FDM), often known as additive manufacturing. Focusing on thermoplastic materials 3D printing has huge applications in the aerospace and medical fields, so it is necessary to understand their mechanical characteristics. The Specimen of ABS, PETG, PLA were 3D printed according to ASTM specifications. In this paper, the experiments are carried out to investigate mechanical properties like hardness, surface roughness and visualization of its micro-structure for the following ABS, PETG and PLA 3D printed samples. The effect of results on Vickers hardness, surface roughness and micro-structure characteristics are analyzed and compared with ABS, PETG and PLA in detail. Each and every result in this article provides fabrication guideline for thermoplastics, so getting new functional plastics by printing layer by layer.
