Abstract

Linear explosively formed projectile is a new type of interceptor ammunition which can accurately and efficiently intercept large caliber penetrator at a close range. In this paper, multiple linear explosively formed projectile (MLEFP) damage element is used as the active protection system to intercept ammunition, so as to explore a system that can intercept high-speed penetrator. We carry out the experimental research on the interception of dynamic large caliber high-speed penetrators with statically placed MLEFP damage element to verify the feasibility of the interception scheme. The research results provide a useful reference for tank and armored vehicles to intercept high-speed penetrators accurately and efficiently.
