Abstract

In order to meet the bearing capacity of shaking table and reduce the distortion of similarity of soil-structure stiffness, remolded soil such as rubber model soil consists of rubber particles and the intact clay has been widely used in the process of shaking table model test. Different proportion of rubber powder soil and rubber particle soil were arranged to conduct a resonance column test to determine their dynamic characteristics and compare with the dynamic characteristics of the intact clay. The experimental results show that the two models’ changing regulation of the dynamic shear modulus and dynamic damping ratio is consistent with that of pure soil, which indicates that both models can reflect the dynamic characteristics of pure soil and can be used in model test. And the dynamic shear modulus and dynamic damping ratio of the rubber model soil decreased with the increase of rubber particle size. The test results can provide reference for similar test in the future.
