Abstract

Microseismic monitoring technology has broad application prospects in large-scale civil engineering safety monitoring fields, such as tunnels. However, due to the lack of a perfect localization method, the microseismic monitoring system has the large localization error at present. To solve this problem, firstly, we preprocess the chaotic microseismic signal, using power spectrum analysis method to extract dominant frequency of microseismic signals and filtering the original signals. We also proposed time-of-arrival localization method based on the combination of the simplex method and the local localization method. First of all, we use the local localization method to determine the initial values of the simplex, and then use the simplex optimization algorithm to locate the microseismic source. Lastly, we test the above methods. Experimental results show that the localization error of this method is less than 0.5m and the relative error is less than 10%.
