Abstract

Amplitude analysis was carried out on current fluctuation of intrinsic a-Si:H samples. The frequency analysis of the fluctuation displays dominantly 1/f character. The fluctuation process in general presents non-Gaussian character, the average values of substantially long time series deviate strongly from each other and from the average value of the whole process. Strong analogies were discovered between the inhomogeneous broadening of spectral lines and 1/f fluctuations, and between homogeneous line broadening and Gaussian noise.
