Abstract

To get at the nerve centers of future college students who might be interested in mathematics, and to give such students some idea of how they might use mathematics at a later stage in their careers, the Department of Mathematics at Lebanon Valley College, in cooperation with the Science Departments, tried an experiment which we found rewarding—indeed, a sheer delight. This is an account of that experience.
