Abstract

We present the experimental implementation of dual-axis parametric modulation magnetometer using Rb atoms in the presence of inert gases (129Xe and 131Xe). The presence of 129Xe and 131Xe nuclear spins broaden the resonance linewidth of Rb atoms, which violates the narrow linewidth condition usually considered in previous works. We systematically study the parametric modulation process beyond the narrow linewidth limit, and optimize the controlling parameters including the frequency and amplitude of the modulation magnetic field, and the demodulation phases. Our work demonstrates a comprehensive method to improve the performance of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Gyroscope.
