Abstract

Recently, the investigation of the residual load-bearing behaviour of LSG is a very important topic within the research on structural glass design. The most important component regarding residual load-bearing capacity in the context of LSG is the interlayer. First tests on LSG with EVA led to promising results regarding residual load-bearing capacity. Therefore, within this work, several tests within the regime of large deformations, are carried out on the pure interlayer, in order to characterize the material behaviour. The respective tests concern uniaxial tension until breakage, in order to examine the failure of the material, cyclic loading with different strain rates, in order to examine the material for rate-dependent behaviour, and cyclic tests with several relaxation steps, in order to investigate the equilibrium behaviour. Subsequently, the test results are examined and the material is assigned to a respective behaviour as well as a matching model.
