Abstract

Measurements of electrical conductivity for liquid immiscible Zn xPb 1−x alloys under high excess pressure of argon gas (up to 40 MPa) were carried out in the entire concentration-temperature range of a miscibility gap (0.03<×<0.95, at.%) from the liquidus to 1120 K. The composition has been varied by 10% steps. A liquid-liquid coexistence curve was determined from the electrical conductivity data and critical point parameters were evaluated. A system behavior in the critical point vicinity is analysed in comparison with dataavailable for other liquid mixtures with a miscibility gap. The shape of the coexistence curve has been analysed and the critical index and amplitude were estimated as β=0.34±0.03 and B 0=2.3±0.2.
