Abstract

ABSTRACT Thermal conductivity of P/M materials depends upon the composition and porosity of the material. The influence of sintering temperature and hardness of the P/M Fe-Cu alloy material has been undertaken in the present work. The thermal conductivity of Fe-Cu alloy manufactured at higher sintering temperature is found to be greater compared to the compacts sintered at lower sintering temperature and iron material. It is also found that the hardness is observed to influence the thermal conductivity of the P/M materials. The material developed can be used in various thermal applications like cooking ovens, clutch plates and other industrial applications
