Abstract

In heat exchangers the continuous flow of fluid takes place in shell and tube side regularly. The continuous flow impacts the fluids and that the fluid reacts with the tube material, as a result of the flow processes failures like erosion and corrosion take place in the tube material. The impingement plate is provided only one side of the shell to prevent corrosion not on the tube and the tube sheets. In this paper the impingement plate is provided on the tubes and to ensure the failure rate the emission spectrometry test, corrosion test, salt spray test, abrasive wear test, magnification test were carried out to increase the heat exchanger maintenance time period.
