Abstract

As an important equipment, side-by-side mooring system and its safety are crucial during offloading operation. Experimental investigation on coupling response of an articulated floating platform and cargo carrier side-by-side single point mooring system is presented. In the case of regular wave and irregular sea, the properties of relative motions in a multi-floating side-by-side single point mooring system is analysised. Comparisons of performance levels between connection systems in different sea conditions reveal effects of wave load are drawn based on the analysis results, which can be used to guide further studies of the multi-floating side-by-side single point mooring system offloading operations.
