Abstract

Concrete is widely used for the construction of infrastructures namely bridges, buildings, power station structures, etc. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is widely adopted for testing the hardened concrete as a quality control measure. The reinforced concrete structure undergoes damages due to various reasons. Different repair techniques are adopted in restoring the structure to the original conditions. The fiber warping is commonly used technique for the repairing of concrete structure. For the evaluation of the efficiency of repair, advanced NDT techniques such as GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and Impact Echo (IE) are being adopted. This paper highlights the efficiency of the radar and Impact Echo techniques in the evaluation of de-bonding of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) in concrete specimen as well as determination of thickness from one side. In addition, the UPV (Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity) test was also adopted for comparison.
