Abstract

In this paper, the influence of the artificial speckle on mechanical properties of carbon nanotube (CNT) film using digital speckle correlation method (DSCM) is investigated. First, theoretical models about thin film with the surface random speckles are established to modify the stress, elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio and stress–strain relationship measured by DSCM. Second, the influences of speckle particles on the mechanical properties of the carbon nanotube film are discussed. Finally, the tensile fracture experiments of CNT film with the random speckles are performed, and the corresponding displacement field, fracture load, elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio are obtained and modified.
