Abstract

The solar integrated air source heat pump with R407c is proposed and investigated on the heating performance. The prototype developed to compare with the same type of conventional air source heat pump is suitable for marketization at the present. Based on the −9°C to −11°C average outdoor dry-bulb temperature including the −9.9°C for the design of space heating in Taiyuan, the 35–65% average outdoor relative humidity, the 115–135W/m2 average solar irradiance, the 15°C initial water temperature and the condensing temperature from 30°C to 55°C, the heating performances with the part load rate of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% are investigated, respectively. The average integrated part load value of solar integrated air source heat pump is 2.54 which is 14.9% higher than the 2.21 of conventional air source heat pump, while the average seasonal part load value of the solar integrated one is 2.53 which is 15.5% higher than the 2.19 of the conventional one. The solar integrated air source heat pump with no water pipe exposed to outdoor environment is safe and appropriate for the narrow and vertical outdoor installation space of high-rise building users to meet their individual demand of domestic hot water or space heating.
