Abstract

In order to extend the basic research on current distribution characteristics of low temperature superconductor (LTS) and high temperature superconductor (HTS) composite conductor and to explore its potential application, an NbTi/BSCCO composite conductor made of NbTi/Cu and BSCCO/Ag cooled by cryocooler were investigated experimentally in this paper. Short sample experiments have been carried out. Current distribution with operating current, temperature, magnetic field and frequency was measured. Current-transfer characteristics between these two superconductors were obtained. Results are very important for studying and developing superconductor with high stability. This kind of composite superconductor has potential application in high field magnet and conduction-cooled magnet particularly.
