Abstract : Theoretical investigation of estimating turbulence statistical parameters from balloon-borne anemometer array measurements. The goal of this task is to develop the theoretical and computer modeling tools needed to investigate the turbulence strength, the isotropic nature of the turbulence, and the spatial correlation properties of the turbulence, or equivalently the spatial power spectral density, of the index of refraction fluctuations in the upper atmosphere using balloon borne anemometer measurements as the input.
