Abstract

The dispersion of the propagation velocity of ultrasonic waves in pyrocarbon samples with a monotonically varying structure is studied in a frequency range of 0.5–25 MHz. The elastic constants of pyrocarbon samples that were obtained with the processing temperatures of 2100–3200°C are calculated on the basis of the measured values of propagation velocities of longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves.
