Abstract

Electrochemical micromachining (EMM) through photoresist masks of SS304 and Phynox using a jet cell and a neutral NaNO 3 electrolyte is investigated. Results show that EMM is suitable for the shaping of highly corrosion-resistant alloys which are not readily machined chemically. The main difficulty of EMM results from the uneven attack of differently spaced anodes. A new cathode arrangement is proposed to alleviate this problem.
