Abstract

In this work, copper is reinforced with 2% Vanadium pentoxide along with Multi layered graphene (0.5%, 1.0%, & 1.5%). The stir casting method is used to fabricate Copper Metal Matrix Composite (CMMC). Material characterization is done by X-ray diffraction and Energy Dispersion X-ray Analysis. Tensile testing, hardness, impact test is carried out to determine the mechanical Behaviour of CMMC. The wear testing is also carried out to determine the wear Behaviour of composites. From the above experimentation, it is found that with the increase in graphene content along with the addition of vanadium pentoxide, the mechanical and wear properties of composites are enhanced making copper as one of the reliable material for varied applications.
