Abstract

The fatigue damage evolution in glass-fiber-reinforced (GRP) mortar pipes under cyclic loading were investigated. Based on the results of fatigue tests, a two-stage linear law of stiffness degradation of a glass-fiber-reinforced plastic mortar pipe culvert is proposed, and a model for calculating its stiffness degradation is established. By proposing a reasonable residual stiffness calculating equation, this study intends to provide a useful method for an accurate prediction of the fatigue life and a valid long-term safety evaluation of GRP mortar pipes.
