Abstract

In this study, chitosan (CS) and zinc oxide, silverand gold nanoparticles (ZnONPs, AgNPs, AuNPs) made of bionanocomposite (BNC) coated with titanium were synthesized by electrodeposition process. Corrosion inhibition coat formation on titanium was investigated. The texture and distribution ofBNC were analysed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In order to contribute, corrosion action of Hank's solution has been scrutinized using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and Tafel polarisation. Antibacterial activity of the BNCs have been tested against Staphylococcus aureus.BNC films of ZnONPs, AgNPs and AuNPs showed significant antibacterial potential against S. aureus in disc diffusion methods, and their accumulation on metal substrates attained better pathogen inhibitory action. Such a formulation has high biocompatibility and is suggested for medical applications for non-toxic and stronger adsorption performance on titanium.
