Abstract

ABSTRACT A comprehensive study for testing of cylindrical heat pipe has been carried out with a number of experiments. Characteristics and performance of heat pipe were evaluated individually with water, methanol, and acetone at different inclination angles (θ). Results obtained show that heat pipe charged with acetone has the smallest thermal resistance and highest heat transfer coefficient compared to other working fluids, hence identified as the best working fluid for the prepared heat pipes. Also, the best angle of inclination for the working heat pipe is 45° as the thermal performance of the heat pipe is optimal at this angle.
