Abstract

An experimental infestation with Strongyloides fülleborni in man by larvæ cultured from the fæces of an infested human shows the possibility of interhuman infestation which is not dependent upon the presence of monkeys and apes. The eggs of the parasite appeared in the fæces of the infested subject 28 days after the infesting larvæ had been applied to his skin. The infestation provoked clinical signs localised first at the site of entry and later in the respiratory and digestive tracts. There was striking eosinophilia (48%) 51 days after the penetration of the larvæ.
