Abstract

The crystal data of a number of carbonyl compounds have been reinvestigated. Interactions between carbonyl groups and π-arene systems have been more deeply discussed from a stereochemical point of view revealing the presence of stabilizing interactions. Preliminar ab initio calculations are in agreement with this interpretation.
