Abstract

In order to realize high-realistic sensation telecommunication over Wide-Area Network, we consider that non-verbal communication play an important role, and displaying the existence of participant by ultra-quality video in real-time on large-scale screen system between each remote site is effective. However, displaying a video with realistic high-resolution in real-time is difficult, because there is a limit in the display resolution of video image captured by a single camera. In existing researches, we have constructed the telecommunication environment to display ultra-resolution video streaming by multi-transmitting each video which captured by multiple cameras with the tiled display wall which is a technology to display various high-quality visualization contents by configuring the large-scale display with two or more LCD panels. However, the adjustment of each camera position is necessary to display an ultra-resolution video by combination of boundary area between each captured video, we have studied on the effect of position setting of multiple cameras. Based on these studies, we have conducted an experimental evaluation on ultra-resolution video transmission and display on tiled display wall between remote sites in JGN-X testbed in this paper.
