Abstract

The construction of a flanged joint in which radial-axial self-sealing is used has been developed in the Moscow Institute of Chemical Machine Building. The seal in this joint is achieved both by a radial deformation of the shutter under the action of the pressure of the sealing medium (the radial component), and due to the angular deformation of the flanges under the action on them of the pressure of the sealing medium and the force of the loading of the fixing bolts (the axial component).
