Abstract

The second dielectric virial coefficient of atomic gases has been measured precisely as a function of temperature in the range 77 to 407 K. The experimental values are compared with the ab initio calculations and the collision-induced polarized scattered spectra (CIS). Except for helium, the Bε values derived from ab initio calculations and CIS parameters do not agree with the experimental values.
