Abstract
The absorption coefficients of gamma rays from 0·14 to 2·76 MeV, for six materials of different atomic number ranging from 6 to 82 have been determined. The experiments were performed using a gamma scintillation spectrometer. The areas under the photoelectric peaks as well as their heights have been used for calculating the absorption coefficients. A detailed comparison between experimental and theoretical results was discussed.
