Abstract

Possibility of applying the acoustic emission method in optimization of technological modes and parameters of hydroabrasive cutting is considered. A wide range of possibilities in using the hydroabrasive technology is presented. As a result of a series of experiments, it was demonstrated that the acoustic emission technique could be widely employed to control and manage the process of processing materials during various operations. Graphical dependencies are presented that connect amplitudes of the obtained acoustic emission signal and efficiency of the underwater hydroabrasive cutting process. Schemes of carrying out all stages of the experiments and technological equipment used are provided. It is demonstrated that the use of the acoustic emission technique makes it possible to fix the moment of a through hole generation.
