Abstract

Тhe values of the coefficient of the ratio of transverse and longitudinal strains, or Poisson's ratio, are determined depending on the type of stress-strain state when analyzing the experimental data obtained according to the pure shear scheme (during the upsetting of long narrow strips in a container). The data obtained differ from the tabular data for the elastic deformed state and from the value of 0.5 accepted in the deformation theory of plasticity.
