Abstract

Experimental determinations of L fluorescence production cross-sections for elements with 64≤ Z≤70 at 10.70 keV were carried out with an X-ray tube, a secondary fluorescent target of As and a germanium detector. Results of the experimental cross-sections obtained for the L lines were grouped considering the transitions scheme and the energy values between level and sublevel, and the detector’s resolution. The data obtained were compared with theoretical data using two different data tables. A good agreement was found between our experimental values and the theoretical values calculated using Chen et al.’s data (Chen, M.H., Crasemann, B., Mark, M., 1981. Widths and fluorescence yields of atomic L-shell vacancy states. Phys. Rev. A24(1), 177–182).
