Abstract

This paper presents the behaviour of SCC ferrocrete overlay slab under tensile test. To achieve this objective uniaxial tensile test was carried out. The Specimens of sizes 500 mm × 300 mm and 400 mm × 300 mm of thickness 100 mm and 75 mm of each were used for testing. An Experimental testing was carried out to evaluate the strength and energy absorption capacity. The results emphasized that better crack resistance of SCC ferrocrete overlay slab significantly improved due to welded wire mesh and hexagonal metal mesh. This parameter represents the toughness property of ferrocrete overlay slab determined from area under load – displacement curve. This study can be recommended for application of parking pavement overlay to avoid early deterioration.
