Abstract
The phase of an optical signal can be linearly converted to voltage by using a receiver incorporating an electrooptic feedback loop. We demonstrate such a receiver in an externally modulated analog link, showing 12-dB improvement in input third-order intercept point with no second-order distortion. Feedback loop gain is achieved without electronic amplification, using only electrooptic and passive components.
