Abstract

We demonstrate the existence of absorbing “parasitic channels” by experimental measurement of the reflection coefficient R of a frustrated waveguide, at several microwave frequencies. Assuming equivalent parasitic channels, we quantify the number of parasitic channels by the ratio of the total absorbance in our system, γ = 1−R, and the absorbance of a single parasitic channel that was recently calculated in the current literature.
