Abstract

The photovoltaic (PV) cell temperature has a significant influence on the PV panel's efficiency. In this paper, ten equations expressing the PV cell temperature as a function of meteorological conditions are compared against measured values of the cell temperature. The results showed that some equations were more adapted to different kind of weather then others. Calculations displayed a mean absolute error between 7.4% and 13% for the most accurate equations according to the weather conditions. The chosen models could be implemented in an existing PV power prediction model, which is actually running with PV cell temperature measurements.
