Abstract

Nonlinear process-model based control (NPMBC), model predictive control (MPC) using Dynamic Matrix Control Corporation's DMC and an advanced conventional control (ACC) are compared for dual-composition control on a lab-scale methanol-water distillation column. Both setpoint tracking and disturbance rejection performances are evaluated for unconstrained control.
