Abstract

Reflection and transmission spectra have been computed for the A- and B-excitons in ZnO which exhibit spatial dispersion. Different additional boundary conditions have been tested by comparison with corresponding experimental spectra. Without exciton free surface layer the old Pekar condition yields the best fit. With exciton free surface layer best agreement is obtained if only part of the excitonic wave function is reflected from the surface. The agreement can be improved by introducing k-dependent damping.
