Abstract

Eight mature heifers received intra-uterine inoculations of viable cell suspensions of a Mycoplasma sp. known to be pathogenic for the bovine mammary gland. In 7 of the animals varying degrees of endometritis, endosalpingitis and salpingoperitonitis were observed. A neutrophilic leukocytosis was the only detectable clinical manifestation of response to the agent. It was noted in 3 of 6 animals.
