Abstract
The expansion method has been used to measure the density of liquid 2-butyne, from 248 to 293 K and pressures up to 104 MPa. The solid-liquid coexistence curve up to 100 MPa has also been determined. The experimental results have been fitted to the Strobridge equation of state, which has been used to estimate several propertie of compresed liquid. The abilities of other semitheoretical and theoretical equations of state to predict the density and thermodynamic properties have been examined and discussed
