Abstract

In the cutting tool industry and for wear parts, vibratory finishing is often used for deburring and cleaning. Cemented carbides are commonly used as cutting and tool materials in these industries. Despite the fact, that vibratory finishing of cemented carbides is well known in the industry, the cause-effect-relationships of machining cemented carbides using vibratory finishing are not. Therefore, the influence of the cemented carbide specification and the machining time on the surface and edge quality after vibratory finishing of cemented carbides were investigated experimentally in this paper.
