Abstract

This article presents an experimental study on pneumostatic pads with micro holes realized with laser technology. Tests were conducted on circular and rectangular pads with different number of micro holes having diameter in the range 0.05–0.1 mm. In order to optimize the performance of the pads, the influence of the diameter and the number of holes on load capacity, stiffness and consumption versus height air gap was analyzed.
