Abstract

Objective To study the change of the serum TNF-α,IL-6 because of Shenmai injection on the rabbits with acute lung injury induced by endotoxin,evaluate the protective effect of Shenmai for the ALI.Methods 24 rabbits were randomized into three groups:normal control group,acute lung injury (ALI)group and Shenmai treatment group.ALI rabbit models were made by administer of endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide,LPS) and treated with Shenmai injection.The change of the serum TNF-a,IL-6 and dry weight/wet weight (W/D) of the left lobe of lung tissue were observed in different intervals of time.Results Compared with the control group,the rabbits'breath state improved after the treatment with Shenmai injection.Partial pressure of oxygen,and serum TNF-α,IL-6 activity had been improved.The value of W/D dropped significantly and the exudation allayed.Conclusions TNF-a and IL-6 may play an important role in the acute lung injury (ALI) rabbits induced by endotoxin.Shenmai injection may inhibit the excessive secretion of TNF-α and IL-6,reduce the injury of lungs,prevent and cure the ALI.
