Abstract
Experiment on the flow-velocity profile and the motion of sediment particle has been conducted in open channel under the various hydraulic conditions. The transition region from saltation to sheetflow was focused from the viewpoint of the difference of the characteristics of flow-velocity profile. The flow-velocity profiles of saltation dominant flow show clear difference form that of sheetfiow dominant flow. These difference was discussed based no the difference in the characteristics of the sediment-particle motion between two fiow modes.
