Abstract

THE use of curare in anesthesia has rapidly gained popularity within the past few years. Numerous papers, which agree on its usefulness, have been published since the initial study of Griffith.1 These papers describe different methods of administration, advantages, limitations and possible disadvantages of the drug.2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 There have also been publications of experimental studies that give further information.10 11 12 13 14 The main purposes of this paper are to consider the indications for curare and its comparison with other agents and to present experience with the use of curare (Intocostrin¶) in 450 cases.
