Abstract

Purpose: This study was about the experiences of nursing freshmen adjustment to university life during the coronavirusdisease 19 (COVID-19). Methods: Colaizzi (1978) s phenomenological research method, which draws out phenomenathrough the researcher s analysis, intuition, and technique, was used. Based on the contents analyzed through interviewswith researchers and 12 students, 13 topics were classified, and similar topics were collected and described in 5categories. The five categories were Experiences of various academic methods, Experiences of various programs at uni versity, Changes in interpersonal relationships in school life, Psychological changes at university, and High demands forschool facilities and support. Results: This study provided basic data for qualitative improvement of nursing freshmen ad justment to university life in the COVID-19 situation by exploring the meaning and essence of the participants experiences. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest implications for the direction of education and support for newstudents at universities in the COVID-19 and post COVID-19 era.
