Abstract
ABSTRACT International university students faced unique COVID-19-related challenges and stressors, as well as anti-Asian xenophobia, discrimination, and student visa regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This qualitative data analysis study aimed to understand international university student’s unique challenges and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through phenomenological and trajectory analyses on 10 international university students’ interviews conducted in April 2020 and again in November 2020, the results showed that international students reported changes in experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, stressors, and coping strategies over the course of six months. Implications of the findings, as well as limitations and future directions, were discussed.
