Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of clinical pharmacists' involvement in the drug therapy of department of nephrology on improving the pharmacy management indicators. Method A retrospective method was used to analyze the effects of clinical pharmacists participating in drug therapy on some indicators of rational use of drugs. Results In 2014, all indicators of pharmaceutical administration in the department of nephrology did not meet the requirements of the hospital. After intervention by clinical pharmacists, the proportion of drugs hospitalized in the department of nephrology continued to decrease, reaching 27.00% in 2017. The intensity of antimicrobial use and the proportion of prophylactic drugs of type I incision decreased to the limited value required by hospital after intervention, especially the intensity of antibiotic use showed a significant downward trend, which decreased from 67.37 DDDs in 2013 to 31.41 DDDs in 2017, with a decrease degree of 114.5%. Conclusion Setting up specialist clinical pharmacists can effectively control pharmaceutical management indicators in the department of nephrology and promote rational drug use in clinical practice.
